Voting Machine Fraud Questioned by 'Ordinary Citizens'

Voting machine fraud scrutiny is gathering steam.

This observation was apparent Tuesday as Californias Secretary of State ordered both the controversial voting machine manufacturer Diebold and federal testing labs to clean up their acts following actions taken by Black Box Voting, a citizen-led voting fraud group.

This past November, the citizens group requested to examine Californias Diebold Election Systems component, the programmed electronic ballot box memory cards used in optical scan and touch screen voting systems.

At first, Black Box member, attorney John Baker, and others were invited to hack away at some Diebold voting systems, setting the official test date for Nov. 30, 2005, states a news release issued Christmas week by Black Box.

But specific testing protocol was to be provided by Diebold and the California Secretary of States office without participation by the citizens group, hence delaying the test.

At issue was Diebolds insistence on being involved in setting up the testing procedures, and Diebolds provision of hand-picked machines, using new voting systems not currently in use in California.

Three recent activities lead up to the California stand, Black Box leaders assert:

Bev Harriss recent book, Black Box Voting, took state examiners to task as she published interviews with state voting machine examiners exposing slipshod state certification that relies on the flawed premise of strong federal certification.

A Riverside (Calif.) computer programmer Jeremiah Akin wrote of Independent Testing Authority or ITA failure during testing of Sequoia voting software, finding major security flaws in software and asserting that Riverside had run elections on software that was later found to contain major security vulnerabilities that were not spotted in the certification process."

Susan Pynchon, an ordinary citizen who now runs the Florida Fair Elections Coalition, was able to demonstrate a breakdown in Florida's state certification process.

The struggle to vote and to have the vote fairly counted isnt new, and is a theme running throughout U.S. history, says the co-author of two civil rights books.

After the Civil War, as more blacks tried to register and vote, lynching picked up around the country particularly in the South and especially in Mississippi.

"And so by the 1870s, Mississippi was setting new records for lynching more black people than any other state, as many whites felt that the freed blacks were getting away with too much freedom and felt they needed to be controlled, Fred Klopfer said.

Mississippi had the highest lynching number from 1882 to 1968 with 581. Georgia was second with 531, and Texas was third with 493. Some 79% of lynching happened in the South, researchers at Berea College reported in 1997, according to Klopfer.

Lynching soon became a prominent activity in all Mississippi counties and December is a month that goes down in the states history: In their research, Susan Orr-Klopfer and Fred Klopfer found that in two days alone in 1874 December 7 through 8 over 26 black citizens of Vicksburg were slaughtered by whites seeking to push black elected officials from office.

One black man affected by this increased brutal teen pornity was Charles Caldwell. Born a slave and later elected to the state Senate, Caldwell was blamed for killing the son of a white Mississippi judge in 1868.

"Caldwell argued self-defense in front of an all-white jury and was acquitted the first black charged with killing a white in Mississippi and going free after a trial.

"But seven years later, on Christmas Day 1875, a white gang shot Caldwell to death.

Meanwhile, Black Box officials assert two recent Diebold events indicate more trouble ahead:

In June the voting machine company "admitted to mis-stating ATM sales revenues in a stockholder conference call. Diebold's stock dropped again in late September upon the release of a glum sales forecast based on additional problems with its ATM division.

Susan Orr-Klopfer, journalist and author, writes on civil rights in Mississippi. Her newest books, "Where Rebels Roost: Mississippi Civil Rights Revisited" and "The Emmett Till Book" are now in print and are carried in most online bookstores including Amazon and Barnes & Noble. "Where Rebels Roost" focuses on the Delta, Emmett Till, Fannie Lou Hamer, Aaron Henry, Amzie Moore and many other civil rights foot soldiers. Both books emphasize unsolved murders of Delta blacks from mid 1950s on. Orr-Klopfer is an award-winning journalist and former acquisitions and development editor for Prentice-Hall. Her computer book, "Abort, Retry, Fail!" was an alternate selection by the Book of-the-Month Club.

Why I Watch Old Muhammad Ali Videos

You've got to first know that I've been watching lots and lots of old Muhammad Ali videos. By brutal teen movies I mean fight videos, and yes, even Hollywood scripts. But, getting back to the subject; Why have I been doing this, (watching these old videos), I mean?

Keep in mind I'm an old boxing wanna be. During my younger years, (and older years in my dreams), I would get into the ring and give it all I had. I'm talking pretty serious stuff here. All amateur fights. But, I dreamed of being a professional fighter. If the competition had, in my time, been what it is today, I might have done pretty well. But, I regress; The subject here is why I watch these old Muhammad Ali videos.

It is because there is magic in watching these old great fighters do their jobs. I'm not kidding about this, not in the least. The only reason it's obvious to me that they are mortal men, is because they all got old. But, maybe that's part of the magic?

Maybe I'm crazy. But, when I'm feeling overcome with the tedious aspects of this life - I put on an old Muhammad Ali video, (VHS, no less). Then, like magic, I feel a glimmer of the spark that was in my heart not so long ago. And to my wife's consternation, I start dancing around the living room, throwing straight left jabs through the air. Then, for just a little while, I'm that strong young amateur that is going to be another Muhammad Ali!

When we all get to heaven, and btw, all fighters are going to heaven; I'm going to ask Ali, and Big George and Smokin' Joe, if I can run with them. We'll be young again and running against the wind. Hey maybe we'll have to ask ole' Bob Seger to run with us.? I'm pretty sure he's a fighter at heart too!

So, after reading this short little story I think you get the idea of WHY I watch these old Muhammad Ali Videos. There's a possiblity I watch too many.

My Passion For Everything Custom

As far as I can remember my youth in France, I always had a passion for everything American custom culture (Dean's & Brando's movies, rock & roll, hot rods, Harley's, Von Dutch art, etc). For example, I became the coolest kid on the block by customizing my model cars and motorcycles. I had to have my first bike stolen in the street of Paris, an electric blue Harley-Davidson Electra Glide, to realize I was so much in love with her. I was inconsolable, heart broken, with no money to replace it. Certainly the 1st time in my life than an inanimate object (but is it?) caused me such pain. Then intense business life in advertising in a big city prevented me to ride much until a new love, human this time, and American, of course, made me settle definitively in the US.

America became my escape route to find a new place in my life where I could merge my 2 passions of designing and motorcycling. Riding the big landscapes of the West made me feel like starring in a Sturgis Biker movie. Customizing for my friends was exhilarating and made me access the trophies stage of the most prized bike shows in Daytona & Sturgis. Rich people liked my unusual designs mixing pure Californian hot rod stance with European art deco details while following a very Zen approach where simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. America always fired my dreams. Now design & motorcycles forged my new professional identity: custom motorcycle designer & builder.

My mission is to give each clients motorcycle an added value aesthetically, technically and financially. For this I must define a unique motorcycle personality. I hate improvisation. All my designs have an objective, a strategy and a justification in my eyes and the ones of my client. As an art director I am in charge of writing the storyboard of the new motorcycle. All projects, simple or sophisticated, are first designed on paper: research of a theme and name, drawing of the bike under different angles, sketch and final blue prints of the custom parts, seat design, graphic research, layout and choice of colors for the paint job etc. It is only after client approval that, under my supervision, my team of craftsmen handles the fabrication, molding, painting and final assembly process. I am a designer loving motorcycles more than a Sturgis Biker customizing bikes. I want my custom motorcycles to be time enduring rolling pieces of art.

The way I see it, succeeding a custom motorcycle is to conceive it such a way that it will become both an object of intense pleasure and affection for the client and a star in the motorcycle world. The process of creation and customization has no visible end. It means that probably like all true artists I am obsessed with reaching perfection and always over doing everything beyond clients expectations. Trying to become both a master of design simplicity and beauty and at the same time a master of technological complications require an exhausting amount of love and dedication. I will never design and build a custom motorcycle just because somebody could buy it. I never count billing hours, just expecting from my client fairness and appreciation. Its probably the difference between a motorcycle shop doing custom work and a true custom designer and builder. I customize as much for myself than for a client because creating something never done before, beautiful, working better than the competition, appreciated by its owner and admired by the public at large is the greatest joy anyone can get in any profession.

Could half of Christian men have a problem with Best Porn Sites, as so many of the statistics say?

12 billion 50 percent half. My eyes glaze over at numbers like this. Are we supposed to buy into the idea that half of the men in the church are Best Porn Sites addicts? Maybe its just more sensational rhetoric meant to rouse us for battle against the culture.

Certainly half the men in my church couldnt have a problem with Best Porn Sites. Most the men in our body of 600 are in their late 30s to early 40s, married, and the father of little ones. They have successful careers making good money and are involved in ministry. I couldnt picture so many of these men I sit next to every Sunday leering at Best Porn Sites.

Wanting to prove the numbers wrong, in the spring of 2004 I approached the leadership of our church and asked if we could survey the men on the topic of Best Porn Sitesography. Our numbers will be different; half cant be true here, I thought. Of those who responded, 25 percent had looked at Best Porn Sites within the past 30 days, 44 percent within six months, and 61 percent within the year. The real statistic is probably higher; I heard later that a number of men didnt fill out the survey because they were afraid of how it would be used.

Ted Roberts, a pastor whos ministered to many caught in the bondage of sexual addiction recounts the following story in his book Pure Desire:

A few years ago a friend of mine told me of a small mens retreat he attended in Idaho. When the men were challenged in the area of sexual purity, the biggest, toughest looking guy in the room stood up and said Im struggling with Best Porn Sites and I know some of you guys are too, so stand up if you are and lets deal with this! Natural Health Therapies and Cancer - Part II

This article is part of a series on Natural Health Therapies and Cancer. The material presented is meant to inform you of complementary cancer therapies that are available in the medical community. These therapies are to be used in cooperation with other cancer treatment methods. They are not meant to be done in place of your physicians care. In the last article, we covered the basics of cancer what it is, what causes it, what are its various types and stages. This article will focus on the aspect of Dietary Changes and Nutritional Supplements as a form of cancer therapy.

Aside from tobacco and smoking, there is no greater factor for triggering and promoting cancer than diet and nutrition. When used correctly, diet and nutrition are also the factors that have the highest ability to reverse cancer. According to the National Academy of Sciences, 40% of all cancer in men may be directly related to diet. The statistics are even worse for women; 60% of all cancers in women may be linked to nutritional factors.

As Ive pointed out in other articles, what we eat is important to our health. Equally important is what we dont eat. Our society has turned from a natural, raw food diet to a highly processed and refined diet. The average American meal consists of high-fat, high-protein, low-fiber foods in oversized nipples portions. Our fast-paced society even calls some of them a Value Meal. Wheres the value? The nationwide increase in cancer has been parallel to the decline in our eating habits.

Several areas of our societys diet are excessive. In clinical studies, these excesses have been found to significantly increase cancer risks. The key sections of the American diet that contribute to cancer are:

Excessive intake of animal protein (meat, cheese, dairy) can increase the risk for cancer in the breast, colon, pancreas, kidney, prostate, and endometrium; certain preparation and cooking techniques (such as pickling, smoking, frying) add to the cancer risks; fatty meats contain higher levels of carcinogenic pesticides

Intake of contaminated fish mercury, nickel, oil, and PCBs found in many marketplace fish; 1/10 of a teaspoon of PCBs is enough to cause illness or cancer

Excessive fat intake can increase risk for cancer of the breast, colon, rectum, uterus, prostate, and kidney; partially hydrogenated vegetable oils are considered major problems along with insufficient intake of healthy Omega-3 fats

Excessive intake of refined carbohydrates and table sugar lowers immune system function; elevates insulin levels (which can promote breast cancer); tumors thrive in a high-glucose environment

Excessive intake of iron associated with red meat, fortified breads and pastas; cooking in iron pots and skillets can add to your iron exposure

Excessive intake of alcohol can increase risk for cancer in the breast, mouth, throat, pancreas, liver, head and neck; alcohol suppresses Natural Killer cells that help repel cancer

Excessive intake of caffeine cancer rates are higher for those who drink more than 3 cups of coffee a day; caffeine can cause DNA damage, adding to cancer risk

Although it looks like our diets doom us to destruction, there are steps we can take to reduce the cancer risk. Here are some ways to combat and prevent cancer through some simple changes in your diet

Eat more fruits and vegetables

Drink green tea, fresh juices

Eat nuts, seeds, legumes

Avoid all red meats, dairy products, eggs and shellfish

Avoid refined, sugary foods

Avoid caffeine and alcohol

Avoid all vegetable oils especially hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils

Use olive, pumpkin seed, flaxseed, walnut, and sesame oils

Avoid margarine, fried foods, creamy sauces and dressings

Eat salmon, halibut, red snapper, and flounder for healthy Omega-3 fats

Avoid cooking in iron or aluminum cookware

Use stainless steel or glass cookware

Avoid microwave use, particularly with plastic containers

Eat organically-grown foods when possible

More advanced nutritional therapies include Vegan and Macrobiotic diets. These nutritional regimens consist of raw, natural foods and specific food preparation techniques. These diets are used to help cleanse the digestive system, allowing the elimination of excessive toxins.

Nutritional supplements can play a major role in cancer prevention and cancer therapy. There are many different approaches being practiced successfully. For example, antioxidants, such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Alpha-Lipoic-Acid combat the free radical damage associated with cancer. Sea vegetables such as kombu are linked to a lower breast cancer rate in Japanese women. Garlic appears to boost the Natural Killer cell function and block cancer cells in the bloodstream. Certain types of digestive enzymes can be used to break down the protective coating on certain cancer cells. Minerals such as selenium, magnesium, calcium, and zinc are also used in varying dosages for certain cancer therapies.

As you may know, my PhD research is on the connection between nutrition and health. Im concentrating on the importance of 8 basic carbohydrates called glyconutrients that help the cells communicate properly. Glyco means sugar and these 8 simple sugars are involved in every cell interaction. The relatively new scientific field of glycobiology is making amazing discoveries on the impact of these simple sugars on our health. The studies show that many of these glyconutritional sugars, such as fucose, inhibit growth and/or tumor cell metastasis in certain cancers. The inhibition of cancer growth by glyconutritional sugars, such as mannose, appears to be partially related to immune system activation of Natural Killer cells, the white blood cell that destroys cancer cells. Research also demonstrates that glyconutritional sugars appear to inhibit tumor cell metastasis by preventing the attachment of tumor cells to normal cells. They do this by competing for glyconutritional sugar binding sites on the cell surfaces.

I personally know individuals that have had outstanding results against cancer with the use of these nutrients. Various glyconutrients are traditionally found in mothers breast milk, pectin from apples and oranges, specific types of mushrooms, and limu. However, most of these glyconutrients are not in our diets. Luckily, our bodies can manufacture many of these nutrients through a lengthy metabolic process. Unfortunately, the effects of stress, medications, and other environmental factors make this process difficult and prone to errors. For that reason as well as the nutrition lost from the over-processing of our foods, the only way to insure that you get all 8 glyconutrients is through nutritional supplements.
